Most of Europe’s greens and vegetables are produced at the edge of the Mediterranean Sea in large scale greenhouses made of plastic. Once scrapped the plastic ends up in riverbeds leading to the sea. By this time, it is disintegrated, layered and has a distinct beige colour. Eventually it becomes part of the ocean coexisting with the plants and animals that live here. The brooch is made of plastic sheets and vegetable seeds and is inspired by seabed flora and coral reefs.
